Four high school students in Kentucky were injured in a car accident on Nov. 3. The four boys were all students at Fairdale High School in Louisville, and three of the boys played on the school’s soccer team. Two of the boys were being treated at the intensive care unit of the University of Louisville Hospital after the accident.
The car accident took place on Fox Avenue at around 2:45 p.m. after the boys had finished the school day. Louisville Metro Police reported that the vehicle hit a tree after the driver lost control. The collision caused two of the passengers to be thrown from the vehicle while the driver was trapped inside. The driver may have been traveling at an unsafe speed before the accident, according to police. After car accidents like this, investigators may take weeks to complete an investigation.
The head soccer coach at Fairdale High School spoke to reporters about the injured teammates after the accident. He said that the two boys who were being treated in intensive care were at practice every day with smiles on their faces. He said that the boys would help the other people on the team to stay positive, even when the team lost.
